Dressing in Tehran
Apr. 23rd, 2006 03:01 pm... several hundred photos from Schahram yesterday. They show different aspects of life in Iran, which he recently visited. These particular ones are interesting because they show how Iranian women are modifying and eroding the strict religious dress rules

I agree with author of these pictures - Iran more and more looks like USSR to me. Unfortunately, at present it only means that nice people on these pictures will dutifully follow their government almost anywhere.
Fortunately it also means that in another twenty years the situation there can improve.
P.S.
IMO, the author miss one more thing - a capital city life in states like Iran is very different from its periphery.
