Election day is over.

Worst elections in Israel I witnessed. Voters are tired and disappointed. The attendance is on record low.

"Kadima" - a party emerged from nothing in half a year before election - takes majority of Knesset seats. At the top of "Kadima" list are politicians that failed to win their former parties vote and had no chance to reach top positions there. Russian Jews bring Liberman. The only real party in the future government is "Avoda" with welfare ideas of Amir Peretz.

Well, at least iniliteral separation seems to be insured now. And Likud got the shock that, may be, will lead to some renovations in the party.

I hope that the internal contradictions of Kadima come out, and Likud is restored. I don't claim to know much about it, of course - I know it's very complex, and I'm an American, but that's just my feeling on the matter. I want Israel to be secure and to thrive.

I'm surprised that Yisrael Beiteinu got more seats than Likud, bringing up again "what do I know." I just hope that the principles (surivival and safety as a Jewish State being first of these principles) themselves come out, above party politics... doesn't that sound optimistic. But I still mean it.

Предвыборная кампания Ликуда на этих выборах состояла из трёх основных пунктов:
1) Ольмерт говно
2) Пресса говно
3) "Скарим" говно
Этого оказалось не достаточно для завоевания народной любви.

ПС Добавьте еще: "Большая часть Ликуда - гавно". Постоянный поиск "агентов Кадимы", демократический разгон Центра (пусть - плохого, но не в этом состоянии революции делать), конфронтация с С.Шаломом. Всё это Ликуду не добавило.

Это следующая большая серия ошибок (самая главная из которых - лидерство г-на Н.), которую Ликуд сделал после самой трагической серии - с отторжением умеренных центристов вместе с Шароном. Слишком часто и однообразно ошибаются.

А из чего прости состояла предвыборная кампания Ольмерта? Из "плана Ольмерта" написанного на коленке? Из партийного списка составленного на той же коленке. Без всяких праймерис которые надо выигрывать а по старому доброму методу "комитет решил".

Дело в том что, как правильно заметил какой-то оборзеватель, "кадима" - это не партия, а политическое объединение. И если бы не досадное недоразумение с Шароном у них было бы гораздо больше мандатов.

За что он собственно и заплатил разбазарив порядка 10 мандатов за две недели. Как справедливо заметил Офер Шелах, если пассивная кампания играла бы на руку Шарону, то она же сыграла против Ольмерта.
Выглядит как простая математика - любое уверенное действие, укрепляющее в народе уверенность в силе и целеустремлённости власти - хорошо, вне зависимости от правого или левого характера самого действия!!!
День промедления - -1 мандат
Захват тюрьмы - +3 мандата
Разгон поселенцев (как это не печально) - +2 мандата

Why not with Liberman? He is right only on paper, you know. And right party in government will be useful to justify disengagement.

So he can sell himself better than Shas.

Alas, I do. I am pretty far convinced that Liberman aim to coalition and be in the government is his real and only goal. IMO he will behave like Russian version of SHAS when it coming to principles.

Liberman never mentioned in this campaign that he is against disengagement. The best for his party is to be in the government. This is the only way the new party can stay in the political scene. They are too young to be in opposition. They must do some real work, which can be done only when they are a part of the government.
Now, Likud is a different story, they must stay in the opposition, or else they may loose their identity totally. They need back off and rebuild. This process can be done only in the opposition, where their voice may be heard, despite their small size.

May be (though I do not beleive in it) they will not be corrupted more than others. But I am 100% sure that they will never become a real party.

Не совсем верно, что "Кадиму" сформировали проигравшие в свих прежних партиях. Точнее, верно только для Переса. Напомню, что Шарон вместе с близкими из "ликуда" шел после собственной победы, но после порашения Переса
