Monastery - a thing that the modern world completely lost.

No, don't tell me that "they are still exist". I am talking about monastery as part of reality, not about abode for religious nerds. I am talking about time where "secular" was unheard word. About monastery where people were taken in not because of their merits, but because of their wish. Monastery where people were able to live a life clean from disgusting compromises and constant fight for survival. Monastery that nevertheless was a part of world politics and shelter for knowledge.

P.S. By the way I do like the modern world.

I have visited one of the old undestroyed monasteries in Mongolia. I liked it more than those in China. Because there were old, not artificial and with few monks. Losted in time, country and space...
