I look to friends lists of different people from time to time. To find someone or something interesting. But when they have it in that popular "white font over black field" format - arghhhh.

I suppose you could try a custom CSS file, but personally I've never done it, and I have only a vague idea of how it is done.

You have to be logged in. That's how the system knows your style.

I am. It doesn't help. In both - Mozilla and IE. Something I don't know what affects it, I am sure :)

Такое впечатление, что работает, но цвета Ваши, а не мои. Ну во всяком случае не совсем мои.
