Due to defence budget shortage, Germany started to arm its ships like that:

Actually it's a test of a new armament concept on the helicopter deck of frigate Hessen. A 155-mm artillery piece is expected to be useful in naval combat and in landing troops support.
The future F125 class frigate will very likely make use of this concept.
