arpadFinished Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge.
Disappointed.
This book should have been written by Bruce Sterling. It is good, but it is just another well done cyberpunk story. Failure in what Vinge was always so lucky - in building a universe around characters. Failure in creation of a meaningful conflict inside of that universe. Lots of nice ideas and no vision.
Another one bites the dust it looks like :(
Our world is truly cruel - way too many people are outliving their purpose. It's funny, that the hero of "Rainbows End" does just that. Gives an edge to the joke.
