That's the way of life for any programmer in a complex application environment - tend to your own volcanoes and try not to let baobabs from adjoining layers invade your turf.

Interesting, but that violates the first principle of ecology no matter its organization - nothing is completely isolated from the rest, and can't be self-sustaining without it.

Britain's New Towns, America's suburbs, and Soviet planned cities all reflect this strategy, and demonstrate how it just doesn't work quite that way.
