Dignity, my ass

Word of the decade was "dignity". Return "dignity" to post-colonial nations. Give "dignity" to poor oppressed communities. And so on and so forth.
Something always bothered me there. Something was wrong.
Lucky, I live in Israel and finally I understood.
Our Arab neighbors are talking a lot about "being their own masters". What they omit is that in their world masters must have slaves.
This modern "dignity" was never about freedom - it was about dominance.

Date: 2011-09-25 12:59 pm (UTC)А я-то никак не могла сообразить, как укладывается в единую точку зрения желание палестинцев быть свободными и какая-то нелогичная уверенность в том, что это возможно только при условии уничтожения Израиля.
Провести, может, массовую психотерапию посттравматических состояний для палестинских арабов? Чтобы они изжили эту травму, в конце концов.
Может, тогда речи израильских и арабских политиков не будут напоминать разговоры слепого с глухим.
